On April 26, 2017, an annual fundraising event, the Inside Ride party was thrown at White Oaks Secondary School in order to raise money for child cancer. The Inside Ride was called “the party with a purpose” since all the donations that were used as party tickets went towards child cancer charities.

During the two rounds of parties, teams and volunteers were excused from class and sent to the cafeteria, wearing their chosen themed clothing. The volunteer helped to position the bikes in the cafeteria. After an opening ceremony, the students started riding the bikes, with six rounds, ten minutes each rotation. Dance music was played and students sang during the duration of the party.

To register for the Inside Ride, the students formed teams of six and fundraised at least three hundred dollars for each team. The team that had collected the most money was WOSS Heroes, who fundraised $1,445 together as a team. Everyone who participated in the WOSS Inside Ride fundraised $21,624 altogether. Unfortunately, the school did not reach its goal of $30,000, but funds raised for child cancer from all the participants can still make a difference.
