The Raptors have had one of the greatest starts to their season for the first time in the last decade. This season for the Raptors started off with a game against the Indiana Pacers, and triumphed with a score of 106-99. This was followed with 4 more consecutive wins. The Raptors beat the Celtics; the Bucks, the Mavericks and finally the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Unfortunately that’s where the Raptors’ hot streak ended. They lost their first game on November 6th in a tough match against the Orlando Magic. The Raptors lost to a slim score of 92-87. The game was a heart-breaker for many Raptors fans who were so eager to see their team continue their win streak.

The game against Magic was close all the way through. However, everyone knew the game was over when Cory Joseph was called for a foul against Victor Oladipo in the last 20 seconds of the tie-game. Oladipo nailed both his free throws and gave his team a three-point lead. Unfortunately, the Raptors could not complete a comeback with the time left and the Magic handed the Raptors the first loss of their 2015/2016 season.

Fans waited anticipatedly for the game against the Miami Heat, feeling optimistic that the Raptors could get back into their winning spirit. In the last matchup between the Raptors and Heat, Raptors came out on top in a 107-104 win. So fans could only assume this game would be close. Sadly, this was not the case and the Raptors suffered a 20 point loss, 98-76.

When DeMar DeRozan, the shooting guard on the team, was questioned after the game he said,

“One loss is not going to define us. Being 6-0 is not going to define us either.”

This tells us that the Raptors won’t let a few losses get them down, and plan on presenting their best game until the end of the season; which a lot of fans are looking forward to seeing. The remainder of the season looks promising and fans, players and coaches are confident that the Raptors will have an extremely successful season.
